CARLOS MIRANDA

Carlos Miranda is a visual artist and an idea smuggler who was born in El Salvador, Central America. His background in graphic design is influenced by the bauhaus movement, which emphasizes functionality, simplicity and harmony. He recently moved to Asheville, North Carolina, where he works as an abstract artist. He is interested in balancing noise and subtleties of language and human nuances that challenge the viewer.

Artist Statement- Carlos Miranda is a Salvadoran abstract artist who creates captivating paintings that balance subtlety and noise. His intuitive mark making and loose and gritty style reflect his personal vision and expression. He explores various themes related to the human condition, such as identity, culture, politics and spirituality, and integrates provocative and paradoxical messages that challenge the viewer's perception and evoke a sense of humor. His works are happy messes that celebrate the beauty and complexity of life. He uses organic and traditional techniques and materials, such as acrylics, oils, charcoal and collage, and responds instinctively to the mood and meaning of each work.
